In Loving Memory of: Mrs. Jeannie Mary Bird
Mrs. Jeannie Mary Bird December 29, 1917 – June 9, 1993

Jeannie Bird was a Community Health Representative for approximately 17 years for the Lac La Ronge Indian Band Membership. She did a lot of walking in those days (late 60’s – 70’s) doing home visits and teaching about health issues. She worked with pride for her people until she retired in the early 80’s. She was 65 years of age.

JEANNIE BIRD CLINIC was then established in her honour by Medical Services Branch (now First Nations & Inuit Health Branch – FNIHB) shortly after the retirement. She is greatly missed by all the people that she so faithfully served during her time as Community Health Representative for the Lac La Ronge Indian Band Health Services Department.
