Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD)

The FASD MULTI-DISCIPLINARY TEAM LEADER designs and establishes a referral process to link community members to FASD diagnosis and follow up services. An asset inventory of community agencies working with FASD clientele is completed to support families of individuals with developmental delays.

This program also provides education on FASD to prenatal women and their families, schools, Elders, and concerned community members to reduce the number of children born with FASD. Individual and group training is also organized to enhance the knowledge and skills of service providers, caseworkers, educators, and families concerned with cognitive disabilities, developmental challenges and behavioral changes.

The staff member holds a Bachelor Degree in Social Work and Education, providing home visits and being and advocate for families by linking them to community supports. A tracking system is developed and maintained to ensure all eligible families have access to the necessary supports.
