The Long Term Care facility has been a long time dream for Lac La Ronge Indian Band and now has become a reality. The Health Department and elected officials seen there was a high need for a Long Term Care Home in Northern Saskatchewan. The Health Department began this project in 2003.
The Grand Opening for the facility was held on December 1, 2010. It is located at #519 Elders Road in Bells Point area of La Ronge and has a remarkable view of Lac La Ronge Lake.
Plans are underway for finishing the landscaping and we are exploring on expanding this program in the near future.
Our Staff consists of one full time Team Leader, a full time Cook, ¼ time Janitor, four Permanent Full time Personal Care Aides (PCA’s) and four permanent Part time Personal Care Aides (PCA’s). PCA’s assist the elders with day to day living including home management, personal care and client’s daily programing. PCA’s provide assistance to elders for 24 hours and 365 days in a year. Cook works from Monday to Friday and prepares meals as per The Canadian Food Guide and Traditional Meals.
The Personal Care home Is 5520 square foot, 10 Beds fully Licensed facility under Saskatchewan Health.
